Metro Nashville needed enhanced reliability for the city’s command center for emergency communications. Puckett Engineering, which had previously performed a study for a 2N redundancy upgrade, was retained as a technical consultant for implementing the upgrades using a fast-track design/build RFP process. The upgrades included a 225 kVA UPS system and 1188 kVA standby generator system for 2N redundant power from the utility transformer on down. Puckett provided design concept and layout for the RFP, helped Metro select the design/build team, and reviewed and approved the design/build drawings. Puckett Engineering also provided technical assistance to the design/build team and lead the technical reviews, site observations, and commissioning. PDF Case Study.
