Due to MNPS’ emphasis on providing the latest IT tools to its administrators, teachers, and students, Puckett Engineering was chosen to study, plan and design the expansion of the data center’s critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure to accommodate anticipated growth. Under the first of two contracts, Puckett Engineering upgraded the computer room and backup A/C units with larger units. Under the second contract, Puckett Engineering designed and oversaw new generator and UPS systems, new electrical service with pad-mounted transformer, and a new electrical room. Also added a four-hour fire barrier between the transformer and generator, mitigated power system harmonics, and added a network interface for monitoring conditions. PDF Case Study.
