Puckett Engineering provided the design for additional air conditioning capacity for the UPS and MDF rooms at the Primary Data Center for Metro Nashville’s school system. At Metro’s request, Puckett Engineering compared precision computer room A/C versus comfort-type A/C systems. Based on the cost-benefit, Metro selected comfort type A/C. PE then adapted the comfort-type A/C systems for critical operations and with N+1 redundancy. The design, utilizing Ductless split systems, included a low-temperature option for the condensing units, which lowered the ambient rating to 0°F. Custom touchscreen controllers were implemented for control and monitoring of the systems. PDF Case Study.
