State of TN Data Center Reliability Improvements

The State needed to improve the reliability of their data center’s power distribution to avoid single-point failures. Puckett Engineering was retained to design the power distribution between the UPS system and the loads for 2N redundancy. Puckett Engineering’s solutions began with an assessment of the existing UPS system and power distribution. The UPS system included a 750 kVA parallel-redundant system with provisions to double capacity to 1500 kVA. Power distribution utilized numerous PDUs and RPPs. This project was done in conjunction with modernization of other systems in the 77,500 SF facility as noted in the “State North Data Center Facility Modernization” Case Study.
